Vinyl Shockley to celebrate CD release with concerts Jan. 18 and 19
Local band Vinyl Shockley will play two area concerts to celebrate the release of its new CD, “Vinyl Covers.” The concerts are slated for 9:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, at Irish Eyes in Lewes and 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, upstairs at The Queen theater in Wilmington.
After talking about it for years, the band has recorded a handful of favorite cover songs that have made their way into live shows over the years. It’s an eclectic group of songs ranging from artists like Todd Rundgren, Lefty Frisell and The Beatles to The Purify Brothers. The band even covers itself with a new version of “Fallen Down” from the first CD.
Ed Shockley, Kevin Walsh, Johnny Neel, Ritchie Rubini, Ian Walsh, Ken Tonge and Jon Fletcher look forward to celebrating this release of their fourth and newest CD with their friends at both shows as well as enjoying the music of Find Vienna, who will open the show at The Queen theater in Wilmington.
