William 'Hop' Hopkins, loyal friend

William Curtis Thomas Hopkins, 27, of Houston passed away suddenly Tuesday, Jan 14, 2014.

William was born Dec 9, 1986, in Milford. "Will" as he was affectionately called by his family, attended Cape Henlopen High School and Delaware Technical Community College. He worked as a laborer at Mountaire and Perdue Farms. He enjoyed listening to music, singing hip hop, writing musical lyrics and creating electronic beats. William loved to engage in the art of laughter; he was charming, loveable and very well-mannered. He had a radiant smile and brought sunshine to his family and friends. His ever-present calm demeanor and mental focus allowed him to unexpectedly deliver his daughter, Ava Kamille, at home on March 2, 2009. "Hop," as he was socially called by his friends, was a loyal, dependable and authentic friend.

William is preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel and Dorothy Hopkins and William and Cleo Haines. He is survived by his parents Delbert and Rochelle Moore (Marshall); two daughters, Jade and Ava Hopkins; brother Delbert Hopkins II ; grandparents Othar and Mattie Hurst; aunts, Deena Farrington (Johnny) , Rosalyn Ingram (John), Gloria Thayer (Leon), Virginia Atkinson, Devinia Briddell, Rita Hurst, Alex and Milford Becton, Otha and Wilbert Hurst, Dwayne and Devon Hopkins (Cheryl); former wife, Shaunda Moore; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

The service was held Jan 24 at Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church 13724 S. Old State Road, Ellendale.
