Women's FEST weekend the best yet

By Donna Whiteside & Dottie Cirelli | Apr 25, 2014

The women were in town the weekend of April 12 and we were hard to miss. Route One traffic felt more like July than April. Restaurants reported record numbers as country music fans of all genders piled into town to listen to country music legend Chely Wright on Friday night.

But even earlier, on Thursday evening, the Sands Hotel and Conference Center entertained a packed ballroom full of revelers celebrating at the free CAMP Rehoboth Women's FEST opening party. There was golfing, yoga, biking, line dancing, an art show, and even a bridal expo.

Everyone was invited to the Craft Fair on Saturday, and the crowds piled in all day long. Local restaurants and bars also cooperated and offered discounts and special entertainment that resulted in record crowds, and I do mean crowds, at many local venues. We really showed off our little community in its very best light, as demonstrated by the number of women who spoke to local realtors after the Business Expo.

There are so many people to thank for this wonderful weekend: our business sponsors, our volunteers, and CAMP Rehoboth itself. It was great to watch both the men and the women of this community come together to make this a weekend that could be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. Special thanks also go out to the Rehoboth Beach Library and our Convention Center and staff for being so welcoming and helpful throughout. This was definitely the best FEST yet, and thanks to all of you, next year will be even better.
