The Annual Youth Fishing Tournament was held on the pier at Cape Henlopen State Park May 18. Sponsored by the Friends of Cape Henlopen Park, about 30 entrants competed for prizes for the largest fish, most fish, first fish and last fish.

Shown waiting for a fish bite, instead of the horseshoe crab bite, is Ben Smith of Pennsylvania.

The fish started biting on the incoming tide just prior to the end of the tourney. Showing off his puffer fish is Matt Wilson of Wilmington.
Defending Youth Fishing Tournament champion Tyler Kuplinger of Newark took home largest fish honors with a 21-and-one-quarter inch flounder caught with less than 10 minutes left in the tournament.
Shown is Ed Crawford, chair of the tournament, with Wayne Norris of Wilmington who won a prize for the most fish, four puffer fish.
